TunerShare Import Tuners Custom Tuners Sport Compact

Hey, I am looking to join the tuner community, and was wondering what the good, bad, and ugly was for the Toyota AE86. I am really new to this scene, and was wondering if you guys could give me some pointers. Thanks,

Terrance

whats up terrance - what i like about that car is that its a Rear wheel drive, it has been used alot for drifting also since its one of the lower cost models.

Yea if you know what you are doing, that car is one of the best drifting cars besides the 240sx. One of the magazines I read there is a guy that has one, they call him Tarzan. The motor is pretty much stock pushing just over 100 HP and he still can hang with the big boys with it. So IMO you have a very wanted car on your hands. ;)

nice ride, if you have the SR5, that model came with the bigger motor and softer suspension, if not the SR5 still a really good car.

well, as said, i dont actually have the car yet, or my licence, lol. Just working on the licnce, and a good budget first tuner, that can blow my school out of the water.... yp aganist an RSX type S, MR2, and a cavalier, haha. I will post peics when i get it though. My current car is a 1994 Pontiac Grand prix GT, done up to 300 horses.

Well if you can, get it!! Just one thing is don't let people talk you into street racing with it cause it's not worth it. Been there done that and paid dearly for it. Best bet is to talk to some people in your area and find out a good track. Like here we have round track, dragstrip and an old airport where we practice drifting (right next to the police station heheh.). but to run at the strip is like 15 dollars all day long all you want. So it's not really bad at all, plus you can raze hell without having to worry about the consequences afterwards ;). If you need any help on mods and installs give me a holla and I'll be happy to help ya out.

maybe a nissan 300zx but i doubt you'll be able to get a turbo model for that cheap...i got mine for 200 outta a junk yard and had it running that weekend with a tune up. only thing was it has a lot of suspension problems and body work needed...why it was tore down. but for 200 bucks what would you expect? lol. and if you plan on working on it, plan on a little down time too. building a car isn't something that is gonna happen over night...especially if you take pride in your work and not some ricer that puts APC stickers all over their car with a bumble bee exhaust tip thinkin they are in Fast and Furious...lol.I actually seen a 2000 model mustang with VTEC badges on it....i was like omfg!!! lol. so what ever you do please don't become a ricer that just throws stuff together and thinks they are hot stuff when they have no clue what they have just done to a nice car. ;)

No need to worry about that, My dad works as a parts guy in a nautobody, and he can paint, and my uncle is a mechanic at a toyota dealer, haha
